Marry My Husband Guide: Which Version Should You Start With?
For English-language comic reading, start with Episode 1 of Marry My Husband on WEBTOON. For the Korean drama, choose the 2024 series starring Park Min-young. The 2025 Japanese version is a separate adaptation, so start that production at its own Episode 1.
That’s the quick route. You can choose a format without working through every version first.
The detail worth checking is which version a search result is actually offering: the original Korean prose novel, the English comic, or one of two screen adaptations. I’ll help you sort those out before you open a late chapter or the wrong show.
Spoiler level: Opening premise only. This guide mentions betrayal and the return to the past, but does not compare endings, identify later revenge outcomes, or map major twists between versions.

Choose the format that fits your evening
| If you want… | Start here |
|---|---|
| An English scrolling comic | Episode 1 on WEBTOON; credited to sungsojak and LICO. |
| The original Korean prose | The novel by 성소작 on Naver, beginning at Chapter 1. |
| The Korean live-action series | Episode 1 of the 2024, 16-episode drama starring Park Min-young. |
| The Japanese live-action version | Episode 1 of the 2025, 10-episode series starring Fuka Koshiba. |
My suggestion is to choose by how you like to spend time with a story. If you want to read at your own pace in English, try the comic. If you prefer actors and screen storytelling, pick the language version and cast that interest you.
Those are format choices, rather than a ranking of which adaptation does every scene best.
Start the English webtoon at Episode 1
The official English WEBTOON listing credits sungsojak as creator and LICO for the adaptation. It marks the series as completed.
Use its “First episode” link, or open Episode 1 directly. Then follow that edition’s published order.
If you’d like my impressions before opening it, my webtoon review looks at Jiwon’s gradual growth, expressive artwork, satisfying payback, and the parts that tested my patience. That is the comic review; the novel and screen versions have their own reviews below.
The opening establishes Jiwon’s situation and why she wants a different future. You don’t need a cast chart or an explanation of the ending beforehand.
One practical detail: the website may show only the opening episodes and direct you to the app for more. That short browser list is not the length of the completed story. Check the official app for the episodes and access conditions shown to your account.
I would keep character searches for later. Even a search meant to clarify a name can bring up a relationship outcome you’d rather discover while reading.
The original novel is a separate Korean reading route
For the prose original, look for 내 남편과 결혼해줘 by 성소작 on Naver Web Novel or Naver Series.
These links are to the Korean-language novel. Start at Chapter 1 if that is the edition you want to read.
Still deciding whether the prose story suits you? My web novel review covers the revenge and romance I enjoyed, the painful opening, and the later developments I found more predictable. It includes the opening and early fate premise.
For English-language reading, the verified option linked above is the comic. It shouldn’t be presented as an English prose edition simply because the property began as a novel. I haven’t confirmed a current licensed English novel reading service in the sources used for this guide.
You also don’t need to read Korean prose as homework before opening the English webtoon or starting either drama.
How to identify the Korean drama
Look for Marry My Husband, 2024, starring Park Min-young and Na In-woo. Park plays Kang Ji-won.
The official Prime Video page lists 16 episodes. Begin with Episode 1 and continue through that series.
Still deciding whether this version suits you? My Korean drama review shares what I enjoyed about the revenge and romance, along with my reservations about the later pacing.
If you’ve arrived after seeing a clip of Park Min-young, this is the production to check first. The title alone can be ambiguous when a service or search engine also shows the Japanese version.
Before subscribing, open the listing in your own region and check that the episodes are playable, that the subtitles you need are available, and what access the service requires. A page appearing in a search doesn’t guarantee the same catalog everywhere.
Is the Japanese drama Season 2?
No. Marry My Husband: Japan is a separate Japanese adaptation.
Prime Video’s Japanese-series listing identifies it as a 2025 production with 10 episodes, starring Fuka Koshiba and Takeru Satoh. Its protagonist is Misa.
That’s why the names and faces differ from the Korean drama. You are looking at another telling of the premise, not the next ten episodes of Kang Ji-won’s television story.
Start this version at its own Episode 1. If the Japanese cast brought you here, you don’t need to finish the Korean series before trying it.
For my thoughts on this adaptation, see my Japanese drama review. I discuss the performances, the more restrained mood I felt compared with the Korean series, and where the ten-episode length left me wanting more time with the supporting characters.
Watching the Korean version first and the Japanese one afterward is an option if you enjoy comparing adaptations. It is not a required sequence.
Can you switch from a drama episode to the matching comic chapter?
I wouldn’t use the numbers as a shortcut.
Episode 8 of a television series and Episode 8 of a scrolling comic belong to different publication structures. The shared number doesn’t tell you whether they cover the same events, and the two dramas have different episode totals themselves.
If you finish a screen version and want to read, begin the webtoon at Episode 1. That’s a straightforward way to encounter the comic’s own introduction and sequence, without needing a spoiler-heavy conversion chart.
Likewise, if you begin with the comic and later want to watch, start your chosen drama from its first episode. You can let each version introduce its own characters and setting.
A few things to know before choosing it
The official descriptions begin with illness, an affair, a violent death, and a chance to change the past. If you’re choosing from the word “romance” alone, that context matters.
For a first encounter, those opening details are enough. There is no need to learn which revenge plans succeed or how each version ends before deciding which format suits you.
