Is The Greatest Estate Developer Finished? Webtoon vs. Novel Season 2
Spoiler level: None. This guide discusses publication status, episode counts, and official editions. It doesn’t reveal the original story’s ending or any plot developments from the novel’s second season.
General edition information checked: October 18, 2026. Serialized novel total and ongoing status rechecked: October 30, 2026. Publication status and episode counts can change; use the official listing for the edition you want to read.
Is The Greatest Estate Developer finished?
The English WEBTOON is complete. But the Korean web novel has an ongoing Season 2.
That may sound contradictory if you’ve seen one official page labeled Completed and another with newly dated chapters.
The explanation is that The Greatest Estate Developer, originally 역대급 영지 설계사, exists in several publishing formats. They don’t all have the same release status or numbering system.
There’s a completed Korean webtoon, a completed English comic listing, an ongoing Korean serialized novel listing, and a separate collected Korean ebook edition marked complete.
Here’s how to tell them apart without confusing new prose chapters with a new comic season.
On this page
The Short Answer: Which Editions Are Finished?
The official platforms currently show four different pieces of information.
- English WEBTOON: Marked Completed on the official English series page.
- Korean Naver WEBTOON: Listed as a completed comic with 228 episodes.
- Korean serialized web novel: Marked 연재중 (ongoing) on Naver Series, with chapters labeled Season 2.
- Korean collected novel ebooks: A separate Naver Series product marked 완결 (complete), listing 22 volumes.
These labels refer to particular editions.
They aren’t four competing answers about a single publication.
The most useful first step is to check whether someone is talking about the illustrated webtoon, the serialized prose novel, or the collected ebooks.
Is the English WEBTOON Complete?
Yes.
The official English The Greatest Estate Developer WEBTOON currently identifies the series as Completed.
This is the licensed illustrated adaptation of the Korean prose work by BK_Moon, with webtoon adaptation credited to Lee Hyun Min and artwork to Kim Hyunsoo.
The completed label applies to that English comic listing. It doesn’t mean all versions of the property have stopped publishing new material.
There’s also a practical difference between a series being complete and every episode being visible in the same browser view.
The official English page may show opening episodes on the website while directing visitors to the WEBTOON app for more episodes.
If you only see a small number of episodes on the web page, that isn’t proof that the entire completed comic contains only those installments.
Check the official series page and its app-reading instructions for the episodes available to your account.
What About the Original Korean Webtoon?
The Korean Naver WEBTOON listing also treats 역대급 영지 설계사 as a completed work.
Its official catalog displays 228 episodes.
This gives readers a clear answer about the Korean illustrated adaptation: the regular comic listing is marked complete.
But that 228-episode count belongs to the Korean webtoon catalog.
It shouldn’t automatically be substituted for the count of English episodes shown in a different interface, or for the number of chapters in the prose novel.
Episode numbers are part of the publication format.
A comic episode, a prose installment, and a collected ebook volume are not equivalent units.
That’s why checking the source of a chapter count matters more than simply repeating the largest number you see online.
Why Is the Korean Web Novel Still Updating?
This is where the apparent contradiction becomes interesting.
The original Korean prose novel is available through Naver Series.
Unlike the completed webtoon listings, its serialized novel page currently displays 연재중.
That means the product is marked as ongoing.
The episode list also contains entries labeled 시즌2 (Season 2).
During the October 18, 2026 check, the catalog showed 520 installments in total, with the most recent listed Season 2 installment numbered 112 and dated October 16.
October 30 update: The same serialized novel listing now shows 529 installments and remains marked 연재중 (ongoing). That is the catalog total, not a count of freely readable chapters. The October 18 figures above are an earlier dated snapshot.
This is an important distinction for someone who finished the comic and sees news about new The Greatest Estate Developer chapters.
The official Korean prose listing is continuing to receive Season 2 material.
That doesn’t overturn the completed status of the comic adaptation.
It means the same title is being maintained across different publishing products, and the serialized novel has additional material under its own season label.
This guide doesn’t describe what happens in that second season. The official publication status is enough to explain why new chapter announcements can coexist with a completed webtoon.
Why Does the Korean Novel’s Book Edition Say Completed?
Naver Series also has a different listing for 역대급 영지 설계사 [단행본].
The word 단행본 identifies a collected book edition rather than an individual installment in the regular serial listing.
That product is marked 완결 and lists 22 volumes.
Its official notice also mentions extra material associated with the collected publication, including side-story content, Q&A material, and illustrations.
That’s useful information for someone comparing Korean editions.
However, the listing’s complete status doesn’t establish that every chapter subsequently added to the serialized Season 2 product has already been included in those 22 volumes.
To verify a particular volume’s contents, you would need its actual table of contents or a sufficiently specific publisher statement.
So the two Naver Series labels can be understood without forcing them to match:
The collected ebook product is marked complete.
The serialized novel product is marked ongoing and contains Season 2 installments.
They’re separate catalog entries with different publishing structures.
Does Novel Season 2 Mean a New WEBTOON Season Is Coming?
Not automatically.
The Season 2 entries confirmed here are on the Korean prose novel listing.
They are not episodes listed under a newly released English WEBTOON season.
A comic adaptation requires its own production and publication arrangements. The existence of more source material doesn’t, by itself, establish that a further comic adaptation has been commissioned or scheduled.
The official English WEBTOON listing checked for this guide remains marked completed.
The Korean Naver WEBTOON listing also remains classified as a completed comic.
That is the confirmed comic status in the sources used here.
If an official publisher or studio later announces new illustrated episodes, that would be a separate development worth checking.
Until then, it’s better not to treat the novel’s Season 2 chapter numbering as an announcement for the webtoon.
The same caution applies to fan discussions about possible release dates. A prediction isn’t a confirmed schedule.
Why Don’t the Chapter Numbers Match?
A reader might encounter 228 webtoon episodes, 22 collected novel volumes, and more than 500 numbered entries on the serialized novel page.
Those numbers sound as though they should fit into one sequence, but they describe different things.
Webtoon episodes are installments of a visual adaptation, structured for scrolling comic presentation.
Serialized novel chapters are pieces of the prose publication, using the novel platform’s own chapter listing.
Collected ebook volumes package prose material into book-format products.
The works are related, but the numbers are not interchangeable.
For example, Season 2 Episode 112 on Naver Series is a label within the novel’s serialization.
It isn’t a reference to Episode 112 of the English webtoon.
And the fact that the novel catalog contains more entries than the comic catalog doesn’t prove a particular scene was removed or that a specific number of webtoon episodes is missing.
Questions about adaptation changes require comparing the actual story material, not subtracting two catalog totals.
For someone trying to continue from one format into another, an unverified chapter-conversion chart is especially easy to misuse.
Where Should You Check Each Edition?
Use the official platform that corresponds to the format you want to follow.
For the completed English comic: The Greatest Estate Developer on WEBTOON.
For the completed Korean comic: 역대급 영지 설계사 on Naver WEBTOON.
For the Korean novel’s ongoing serialized listing: Naver Series — Serialized Novel.
For the Korean collected novel ebooks: Naver Series — Collected Edition.
If you read only English, the licensed WEBTOON is the confirmed English comic option in these sources.
The existence of a new Korean novel season shouldn’t be taken as confirmation of a simultaneous licensed English prose translation.
Check the relevant publisher’s official catalog before assuming a particular season or edition is available in your language.
What Should You Do After Finishing the Webtoon?
If you’ve completed the English WEBTOON, you have a few different options depending on what you’re looking for.
If you want to explore more material under the same title and can read Korean, check the Naver Series novel’s current Season 2 listing. Be aware that continuing beyond the original story may involve spoilers.
If you’re interested in the original prose format, you can compare the serialized Korean novel with its collected ebook edition and decide which product better suits your reading habits.
If you want another officially licensed English comic with a related creative background, the What to Read After The Greatest Estate Developer Guide compares two other BK_Moon works.
The key is not to mistake a new prose installment for a new English comic release.
The webtoon can be complete while the Korean novel continues. Both statements can be true because they describe different editions.
