Eleceed vs. Solo Leveling: Which Action Webtoon Fits Your Mood?
Hi, it’s Min. If you’re choosing between Eleceed and Solo Leveling, I’d start with the kind of pleasure you want from an action webtoon today.
I’d lean toward Eleceed for action with cat comedy and prickly affection. I’d lean toward Solo Leveling when the main attraction is following a vulnerable protagonist’s growing power. Both offer growth, danger, and people to care about; the balance is what I’m comparing.
This guide draws on my Eleceed review and Solo Leveling webtoon review. It compares the comics, keeping their screen adaptations separate.
Spoiler level: Opening premises, artwork, and broad reading impressions. No later abilities, rankings, battle results, or endings.
Content note: Both include violence and dangerous confrontations.

What do you want from your next episode?
| What you’re looking for | Where I’d lean |
|---|---|
| A growing hero, striking battles, and the next new capability | Solo Leveling |
| Action mixed with a talking cat and affection behind sharp words | Eleceed |
| Several characters with equally substantial journeys | Check the reservations below before choosing either |
These are starting preferences. You may enjoy both, or want a different balance on another day.
A reason to grow, and a reason to stay
The official Solo Leveling comic introduction begins with Sung Jinwoo struggling as a weak Hunter before a mysterious System gives him an unusual opportunity to improve.
In my review, the changing distance between that beginning and his expanding abilities is a major pleasure. Another challenge promises something new to see him do.
The official Eleceed introduction pairs Jiwoo’s hidden abilities with Kayden, who is stuck in a cat’s body. I enjoyed its action, while Jiwoo’s choices and Kayden’s awkward care made me want to remain with them between confrontations.
Both characters’ growth matters. For this choice, I’d ask whether the next gain in capability or another exchange between that unlikely pair sounds more inviting.
How much company do you want around the lead?
Solo Leveling keeps Jinwoo firmly at its center. Other Hunters establish the dangers and the scale of his progress, but some receive less room to develop. That focus works best when his journey is your main reason to continue.
In Eleceed, Kayden’s pride and Jiwoo’s readiness to help gave me an ongoing relationship to follow. Still, the expanding cast sometimes made me miss their early back-and-forth. A larger group doesn’t automatically mean more time with the people you most want to see.
If equal attention across a large ensemble is essential, I’d keep those reservations in mind for both.
What makes you pause while scrolling?
DUBU’s artwork in the main Solo Leveling comic makes growth visible through scale, composition, and dramatic reveals. An imposing image can be its own reward for following the next step.
With ZHENA’s Eleceed artwork, the cats’ expressions and movements were a particular attraction for me. Their comedy gives the action room to relax. The pleasure can be a satisfying fight followed by a face or exchange that changes the mood.
I’d choose according to the pause I wanted: taking in a grand action image, or lingering over a character’s expression after the excitement.
Familiar rhythms and the commitment to continue
Both reviews have a reservation about repetition. In Eleceed, growth and new opponents sometimes followed a recognizable pattern, while the widening terminology could send me back to earlier installments.
In Solo Leveling, increasing power can make some confrontations feel more predictable. Enjoying the progression itself becomes especially important when evenly matched uncertainty is no longer your main pleasure.
I’d approach either as something to sample before committing to a long read. A cat-centered setup doesn’t promise a short story, and rapid-feeling action doesn’t tell you how quickly you’ll finish a comic.
Try the opening that matches today’s mood
For Eleceed, use the official English WEBTOON edition. For Solo Leveling, check the official Tappytoon comic. Check each service’s current episode access and regional conditions.
My Eleceed hub and Solo Leveling hub keep the creators and formats together. I’d try the opening of whichever sounds inviting today, then let its own rhythm decide whether I want another episode.
