A Good Day to be a Dog
Last updated November 1, 2026
A kiss is usually a promising development in a romance. For the heroine of A Good Day to be a Dog, it also creates a very practical problem: she turns into a dog.
This is a Korean romance webtoon by Lee Hye, the creator of See You in My 19th Life. It also has a 2023 live-action drama adaptation.
The starting dilemma brings two people together for conflicting reasons. She wants to undo a curse involving dogs; the man she needs to approach is frightened of them.
Spoiler level: The official opening premise, creator credits, publication status, and format names. No explanation of the curse’s origins, later revelations, or relationship outcomes.

What is the starting dilemma?
The official English WEBTOON introduction introduces the heroine as Hana (Hae Na). Her family curse makes a first kiss the beginning of a problem, and another kiss is needed to break it. The man involved, however, is afraid of dogs.
That setup gives the romance an immediate obstacle: getting closer means dealing with something one person needs and the other fears. You can begin with that tension and let the story explain the curse at its own pace.
If you’re deciding whether to open the comic or the drama, the starting guide separates the two routes and points to the official first comic episode.
Who is Lee Hye?
The Korean Naver WEBTOON listing credits 이혜 for both the writing and artwork. The English edition uses Lee Hye.
WEBTOON also lists See You in My 19th Life among the creator’s other works. If that is how you found this title, my See You in My 19th Life introduction offers a separate route into its reincarnation-and-reunion story.
You can choose either title on its own premise. There’s no need to use the creator’s publication order as a required reading plan.
How does the drama fit?
The official Rakuten Viki page identifies A Good Day to be a Dog as a 2023 romance, romantic comedy, and fantasy series. Its introduction returns to the woman who turns into a dog and the man who fears dogs.
This is the screen adaptation, rather than a continuation to watch after the comic ends. Choose the original comic for a reading route or the drama for a television route; either can introduce the premise.
Where should you begin?
For the comic in English, open episode 1 on WEBTOON. The series listing is marked Completed and directs readers to the app for more episodes.
For Korean, use the Naver WEBTOON original. For television, check the Viki drama listing in your country.
The webtoon-and-drama starting guide explains how to follow the original’s main story and side stories, and why the short English browser list doesn’t establish the full comic’s length.
For my personal response to the soft artwork, awkward kindness, and sweet dialogue, read my webtoon review. It follows the feelings that stayed with me beyond the dog-curse comedy, along with a few reservations about its repeated suspense.
