A Good Day to be a Dog Guide: Where to Read and Watch
For the original comic in English, begin with episode 1 on WEBTOON. For the screen adaptation, start with the first episode of the 2023 drama.
You don’t need to read and watch in parallel. Pick a format and let that version introduce the woman whose kiss activates a dog curse, and the man who is afraid of dogs.
Spoiler level: The opening curse-and-romance premise and the original listing’s section labels. No curse origins, later identities, ending details, or scene-by-scene adaptation comparisons.

Which version should you start with?
| If you want | Begin with |
|---|---|
| Lee Hye’s original comic in English | WEBTOON episode 1, then that edition’s published sequence |
| The original in Korean | Naver WEBTOON 1화, then the main story before the side stories |
| Actors and television episodes | Episode 1 of the 2023 drama |
The comic is the original work; the drama adapts it. Neither choice requires finishing the other version first.

Where can you read the official English webtoon?
The official English WEBTOON listing credits Lee Hye. Its synopsis calls the heroine Hana (Hae Na), a useful spelling to recognize if you’re searching for the comic.
Open Ep. 1 and continue in the edition’s own order. You don’t need a recap or an explanation of the curse before starting.
The series is marked Completed. The public browser listing checked for this guide shows episodes 1–10 and a message directing readers to the app for more. Those ten visible entries are a browser-access window, rather than the whole comic.
Check the current app and episode-unlocking conditions on WEBTOON before planning a complete read. A completed series isn’t necessarily available in full through a browser or without an account or payment.
Where is the Korean original?
Look for 오늘도 사랑스럽개 by 이혜 on Naver WEBTOON. The listing credits Lee Hye for both story and art and marks the series as complete.
Begin with 1화, meaning the first installment, and follow the original order. Some later entries are marked as paid comics on the Korean listing; use that service’s current access terms for that edition.
You may also find the work on Naver Series. That is another official Korean listing, rather than an English translation route. Access conditions on one service or language edition don’t establish the conditions on another.
When should you read the side stories?
The Korean original’s third listing page places the main story’s last installment before entries labeled 외전 (side stories). The final listing page continues those side stories and ends with 후기 (an afterword).
For the Korean original, follow that order: main story → side stories → afterword. The side stories aren’t a prologue to read before episode 1. Looking up their summaries early may also reveal where the main story goes.
Naver lists 93 installments in total, including those additional entries. That is the Korean listing’s total, not a promise that the English edition uses identical numbering or exposes the same sections in a browser. Follow the labels and sequence presented by the edition you’re actually reading.
Where can you start the drama?
The Rakuten Viki listing identifies the series as 2023 and offers an episode 1 entry. Check its regional availability, subtitles, and viewing conditions for your account.
The Korean broadcaster also maintains an official MBC program introduction. Use it for information about the television production, and Naver WEBTOON for the original comic.
Start the drama at its first episode even if you’ve sampled the webtoon. A television episode number doesn’t provide a reliable matching comic chapter, and a chapter-to-episode chart can give away later developments.
Do you need to read See You in My 19th Life first?
No. Lee Hye created both comics, and WEBTOON links See You in My 19th Life among the creator’s other works. That connection helps you find another title by the same artist; it doesn’t make the other comic a required first volume.
Choose A Good Day to be a Dog for the dog-curse premise. If you’re looking for the story about remembering past lives, the See You in My 19th Life hub is the relevant starting point.

If you’d like my personal take before choosing a reading route, my webtoon review discusses the gentle artwork, the characters’ kindness, and how the sweet dialogue and recurring suspense felt to me.
Official listings checked: October 31, 2026. App access, paid episodes, regional catalogs, and subtitles may change. This guide doesn’t establish full English side-story availability or a comic-to-drama episode correspondence.
