Tower of God Print vs. WEBTOON: English Volumes & Episode Guide

By Published Updated

Spoiler level: None. This guide covers English print editions, WEBTOON episode numbering, and official publishing information. It avoids major story developments and the ending.

Publishing information checked: October 27, 2026. Announced book release dates and formats may change. This guide distinguishes books already released from upcoming volumes.

You can read Tower of God on WEBTOON, but you can also find English books labeled Tower of God, Vol. 1, Vol. 2, and so on.

Are those novels? Do the books follow the same episode numbers as the website? And if you’ve finished the anime, can you pick up the next part of the story in print?

The first thing to know is that the English print books are collected editions of SIU’s webtoon, not prose novels.

They belong to the same original comic, but the books and the digital WEBTOON organize their material differently.

Here’s how to understand the two formats, check the official book releases, and avoid buying a volume that doesn’t cover the part of the story you want.

Is Tower of God Originally a Web Novel or a Webtoon?

Tower of God began in Korea as 신의 탑, a webtoon created by SIU.

It was published on Naver WEBTOON beginning in 2010.

That matters because several internationally popular Korean fantasy series began as prose web novels and were later adapted into comics.

Tower of God has a different publishing history.

Its original serialized format was already illustrated, with episodes designed for a digital reading experience.

The official English WEBTOON provides the comic in a scrolling format.

The English print editions take that existing comic into collected books.

So if you see a paperback labeled Tower of God, Vol. 1, you aren’t looking at the first volume of a separate prose adaptation.

You’re looking at another way to read the comic.

Digital WEBTOON vs. Printed Books at a Glance

Detail Official digital WEBTOON English print books
Format Vertically scrolling comic Collected graphic novels
English publisher or imprint WEBTOON WEBTOON Unscrolled
Main reading unit Season and episode Volume number
Reading experience Scrolling through episodes Turning fixed pages
Available story material Extensive digital episode catalog Material collected into released volumes
Where to verify Official WEBTOON series page Publisher and book listings

The two formats share the same underlying work by SIU.

But their numbering systems serve different purposes.

A digital episode is one installment of the serialized comic.

A printed volume collects multiple installments into a book.

A volume number therefore isn’t another name for a WEBTOON season.

How Many English Tower of God Books Are Available?

As of October 27, 2026, the official publishing distributor listings show six released English volumes, including Volume 6 with an October 27 publication date.

Volume 7 has an announced publication date in 2027.

Volume Official publication status
Vol. 1 Released November 22, 2022
Vol. 2 Released May 23, 2023
Vol. 3 Released November 28, 2023
Vol. 4 Released June 25, 2024
Vol. 5 Released June 3, 2025
Vol. 6 Released October 27, 2026
Vol. 7 Scheduled for May 25, 2027

These dates come from the official publisher and distributor listings, not from an unofficial volume checklist.

The publisher lists Volume 6 as published on October 27, 2026. Check your retailer’s local stock and delivery options separately.

Volume 7 remains a future release; its announced date can help you plan, but it is not a currently released book.

If you’re reading this later, check the current WEBTOON Unscrolled catalog before making a purchase.

A listed future volume is useful for planning, but release schedules can change.

Which WEBTOON Episodes Are Collected in Each Book?

This is the part where the official distributor’s product descriptions are especially helpful.

For Volumes 3 through 7, the listings identify the digital WEBTOON episodes collected in each volume.

English volume WEBTOON episodes Status on October 27, 2026
Vol. 3 Episodes 22–31 Released
Vol. 4 Episodes 32–39 Released
Vol. 5 Episodes 40–50 Released
Vol. 6 Episodes 51–60 Released
Vol. 7 Episodes 61–69 Upcoming

The ranges are taken from the official descriptions of those particular books.

This isn’t a universal formula for converting book volume numbers into episode numbers.

For example, Volume 5 doesn’t mean Episode 5. It collects multiple earlier installments of the digital comic.

The exact episode breakdown for Volumes 1 and 2 isn’t reproduced here because the publisher product pages used for this guide don’t give the same explicit episode-range breakdown.

That doesn’t make those books incomplete or unofficial. It simply means a reader should check the individual edition rather than assume an unverified conversion chart.

If you’re buying a particular volume to continue from a digital episode, the safest method is to check the publisher’s listed contents.

Does Print Volume 6 Mean WEBTOON Season 6?

No.

This is an easy mistake if you’ve seen numbered anime seasons, WEBTOON seasons, and printed books.

They’re separate labels.

Print Volume 6 is the sixth collected English graphic novel.

WEBTOON Season 1 or Season 2 refers to a division in SIU’s digital comic.

Anime Season 1 or Season 2 refers to the television adaptation.

The same number can appear in all three systems without identifying the same part of the story.

In fact, the publisher identifies print Volume 6 as collecting WEBTOON Episodes 51–60.

Those installments belong to the earlier part of the original comic, not a hypothetical sixth WEBTOON season.

For episode numbering and where to continue after the anime, see the Tower of God Reading Order Guide.

It uses the official digital WEBTOON’s displayed season and episode labels rather than confusing them with printed volume numbers.

What Changes When a Scrolling Webtoon Becomes a Book?

The original reading format is worth understanding.

A Korean webtoon like Tower of God is designed to be read vertically.

Readers move down a long sequence of images, and the space between them can influence when they encounter a reaction, a new piece of information, or a change of scene.

A printed graphic novel has a different physical structure.

It divides material into fixed pages, and readers move through the sequence by turning those pages.

WEBTOON Unscrolled exists specifically to bring digital WEBTOON stories into print.

That creates a practical difference in how readers encounter the comic, even though the source work is the same.

But there’s an important limit to this comparison.

Without placing specific print pages beside their corresponding digital episodes, it would be misleading to claim that a particular panel, line of dialogue, or scene was changed.

This guide doesn’t make those unsupported claims.

The format difference is real. A detailed claim about an individual adaptation choice needs additional evidence.

I Finished Print Volume 5. Where Should I Continue Digitally?

The official Volume 5 description identifies Episodes 40–50 as its collected material.

That provides a useful starting point if you want to switch from Volume 5 to the digital comic.

Look for [Season 1] Episode 51 on the official English WEBTOON listing.

This recommendation follows the publisher’s stated episode range. It is not a claim that every page boundary or bonus feature in the printed edition maps perfectly onto the digital interface.

If you want a little overlap, rereading the final digital episode collected in the book is also an option.

The important point is to follow the visible WEBTOON episode title rather than its internal URL sequence number.

You can browse the official English Tower of God WEBTOON to locate the relevant installment.

Episode availability and app-specific access rules should be checked on the platform itself.

Can the Printed Books Take You Beyond the Anime?

Not yet, based on the released English volumes and the announced episode coverage checked for this guide.

The first anime season adapts material extending through the original WEBTOON’s first season, while the second anime season continues into later digital story material.

The English printed volumes confirmed here collect much earlier portions of the webtoon.

Even the announced Volume 7 covers Episodes 61–69, according to its publisher description.

That’s still part of the original comic’s first season.

So if your goal is to move directly into the story after the 2024 anime, buying the latest announced print book isn’t the practical continuation route.

The official digital WEBTOON has much more story material available.

Use the Tower of God Reading Order Guide for the appropriate digital continuation point after each anime season.

On the other hand, if you want to collect the earlier story in physical form, the printed editions serve a different purpose.

They’re not intended to match the anime’s season numbering or release schedule.

What Should You Check Before Buying an English Volume?

Three details are especially useful.

First, check the volume number. Make sure you’re selecting the actual collected book you intend to read, not an anime season or a digital episode with a similar number.

Second, check the format and ISBN. The publisher listings show that some volumes have more than one physical binding, including paperback and hardcover editions. Different formats can have different ISBNs.

Third, check the publication status. A preorder listing doesn’t mean the book has already been released.

You can use the publisher’s official pages rather than relying entirely on a retailer’s shortened product title.

For example, the Volume 1 listing provides edition details, while the Volume 6 listing identifies its October 27, 2026 publication date.

The presence of a Korean print edition or a different country’s book listing doesn’t mean it uses the same ISBN or volume structure as WEBTOON Unscrolled.

When choosing a book, verify the edition and language you actually want.

Which Format Should You Start With?

Choose the digital WEBTOON if:

  • You want to read in the original vertical-scroll format.
  • You want access to story material far beyond the released English print volumes.
  • You’re continuing after an anime season and need a specific digital episode.
  • You prefer following the webtoon’s own season and episode labels.

Choose the English print books if:

  • You prefer reading a physical graphic novel.
  • You want to collect the early story in numbered volumes.
  • You prefer identifying books by their publisher, format, and ISBN.
  • You’re comfortable with the fact that printed releases cover only part of the digital series so far.

Neither option is a separate sequel or a prose retelling.

They’re different ways to read SIU’s illustrated story.

The Korean origin matters here: Tower of God was created for digital comic publication before its later collected English editions appeared.
